Michael Sheen to use all future career earnings to help homelessness, other social causes - Wonderwall

Michael Sheen has dubbed himself a “not-for-profit actor,” as he plans to dump all of his future earnings into social causes, including homelessness.
Proving his commitment, the “Frost/Nixon” actor reveals he even quietly sold two of his homes in 2019 to help fund the Homeless World Cup, which uses soccer to inspire the homeless to change their lives, according to the website.
“I had committed to helping to organize [the Homeless World Cup] and then suddenly, with not long to go, there was no money,” he told the Big Issue for their Letter to My Younger Self. “I had to make a decision – I could walk away from it, and it wouldn’t happen. And all those people from all around the world who were banking on coming to have this extraordinary experience, maybe a life-changing experience, wouldn’t have it. I thought, I’m not going to let that happen.”
The Homeless World Cup’s website cites that 94 percent of players claim the tournament positively impacted their lives.
With this in mind, Michael couldn’t let the lack of funding end the organization.
“I put all my money into keeping it going,” he said. “I had a house in America and a house here and I put those up and just did whatever it took.”
At the time, the “Good Omens” star had no idea how that would financially affect him personally.
“It was scary and incredibly stressful. And I’ll be paying for it for a long time,” he said. “But when I came out the other side I realized I could do this kind of thing and, if I can keep earning money it’s not going to ruin me. There was something quite liberating about going, alright, I’ll put large amounts of money into this or that, because I’ll be able to earn it back again. I’ve essentially turned myself into a social enterprise, a not-for-profit actor.”
Another eye-opening moment for Michael came after filming 2011’s “The Passion” in Port Talbot, a small town in Wales, United Kingdom, which happens to be his hometown.
“That project involved the entire town and it was a big awakening for me. I got to know people and organizations within my hometown that I didn’t know existed. Little groups who were trying to help young carers, who had just enough funding to make a tiny difference to a kid’s life by putting on one night a week where they could get out and go bowling or watch a film and just be a kid,” he said. “I would come back to visit three or four months later, and find out that funding had gone and that organization didn’t exist any more. That stuff doesn’t make the news but it makes a massive difference to kids’ lives.”
He continued, “I realized the difference between that child’s life being a little bit better or not was ultimately a small amount of funding. And I wanted to help those people. I didn’t just want to be a patron or a supportive voice, I wanted to actually do more than that. That’s when I thought, I need to go back and live in Wales again.”
Michael has a reported net worth of $16 million.
“I’ve realized in the last few years that I want to be one of those people who help other people the way so many people helped me. I don’t want to just be someone who enjoys the fruits of what other people have done and then pull the drawbridge up and go, well I’m alright Jack, I’ve had a nice time,” he said. “I’m at the stage of my life and career where I have a window of opportunity that will probably never be this good again. I’m able to get people in a room, I can open doors. I don’t want to look back and think, I could have done something with that platform. I could have done something with that money.”
Tristan Thompson is trying to shush the woman who allegedly gave birth to his third child.
The NBA player filed an emergency petition in Texas on Dec. 7 that asks a judge to issue a gag order in his paternity case against Maralee Nichols, TMZ reported.
In his court filing, Tristan claims a judge previously issued a confidentiality order orally, and he alleges that Maralee already violated those terms. Maralee, he alleges, has been doing interviews with the media, leaking personal information and speaking about both her pregnancy and Tristan on social media.
Maralee, a personal trainer, wants to “achieve some sort of notoriety and gain for herself in this lawsuit,” Tristan says, adding that he wants the court to sanction Maralee for not remaining mum about the pregnancy.
Bottom line: He doesn’t want anyone speaking about the case as it plays out in court.
Last week, DailyMail.com reported that Tristan was expecting his third child. While Tristan has his doubts that the child is his, he did admit in legal papers that he had sex with Maralee the evening of his 30th birthday, when he and Khloe Kardashian were still exclusively dating
He maintains the hookup was a one-time thing, but Maralee insists the relationship lasted months.
As part of a paternity lawsuit against the Sacramento Kings player, Maralee’s lawyer filed a legal request to submit text messages purportedly sent between her and Tristan. Those messages reveal that Tristan allegedly urged Maralee to get an abortion
Maralee, who moved from Houston to Los Angeles, is suing for child support. An alleged text message from Tristan, posted to TMZ last week, showed him telling Maralee he “won’t be involved” in the child’s life.
TMZ also reported Tristan offered her $75,000 to stay quiet about the pregnancy.
Since news of Tristan’s infidelity broke (again), there have been conflicting reports as to whether the child has been born. People magazine reported it confirmed with Maralee’s rep that the baby was born last week, but TMZ reported the child is due “any day now.”
Tristan currently shares 4-year-old son Prince Thompson with ex Jordan Craig and 3-year-old daughter True with Khloe.
John Goodman once tipped the scales at roughly 400 pounds, but he’s now literally half the man he used to be.
It’s estimated that the actor has lost 200 pounds since he was at his heaviest.
On Dec. 6, the “Connors” star showed off his slimmed down figure while attending TUBI’s “The Freak Brothers” experience at Fred Segal in Los Angeles. Stylishly dressed in form-fitting clothes, John smiled while hanging out with co-stars Pete Davidson, Woody Harrelson and Tiffany Haddish.
Physically speaking, John has a lot to smile about.
“In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits,” he told ABC. “This time I wanted to do it slowly. Move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore.”
In 2018, the “Fargo” star hired a personal trainer to help keep him accountable and on track.
“I took it slow. I just wanted to change my lifestyle. … It’s an ongoing process for the rest of my life,” he previously told Howard Stern. “You look in the mirror everyday and go, ‘I gotta deal with this the rest of the day, I gotta deal with this schmuck?'”
In addition to exercise, John now credits portion control and sobriety as keys to his weight loss.
Open mouth, invite gone.
Many were surprised over the summer when Adam Levine was not at Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani‘s wedding, especially given how he’s close with both the bride and groom. While appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ eponymous talk show on Dec. 6, Blake joked that the Maroon 5 singer never received the invite because of comments he made during a previous interview.
Earlier this year, Adam appeared on Ellen’s show and humorously said that he would cause a ruckus at the wedding.
“That’s the reason we didn’t invite him to the wedding is that interview he did on your show,” Blake laughed. “It’s like, ‘I’m not inviting him.'”
Adam further quipped in his past chat that he didn’t support the union.
“She’s so cool and he’s not,” he said. “I’ll go to the wedding and I’ll object. I probably won’t be invited now that I’m saying this on live television. But I’ll be there somehow.”
On Dec. 6, Ellen asked the country crooner if Adam would have been invited had he not opened his mouth, Blake said, “Well, we’ll never know. I purposely did not invite Adam Levine to my wedding — and I think it’s funny.”
In the end, the wedding — which took place at Blake’s ranch in in Mill Creek, Oklahoma — was a very intimate affair. Blake estimated that, including wedding staff, less than 30 people were there.
“It was awesome,” he said. “It was exactly what it needed to be.”
Nick Cannon is heartbroken after announcing that his youngest child, Zen Scott Cannon, has died from a brain tumor.
The “Masked Singer” host shared the devastating news on “The Nick Cannon Show” on Dec. 7. He also posted the news to Instagram.
A post shared by NICK CANNON (@nickcannon)
Zen, born in June 2021, was only two months old when Nick and model Alyssa Scott, the baby’s mother, noticed that his head seemed large. Plus, they thought he was dealing with a sinus issue because of “interesting breathing.” After consulting with medical experts, a doctor said fluid had started to build up in Zen’s head and a tumor was discovered, something that required immediate surgery.
Things, though, began getting worse around Thanksgiving.
“The process sped up,” Nick said, “and the tumor began to grow a lot faster.”
While tearfully addressing the death, Nick said he took his youngest son to the ocean in California last weekend for “quality time.” Zen died shortly after.
Nick dedicated the show to his son.
Zen was Nick’s seventh child and the fourth of Nick’s children born within six months
Nick and Alyssa previously kept Zen’s medical issues private.
After the death, Alyssa posted several videos of Zen to her Instagram Story.

Nick famously shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 10, with ex-wife Mariah Carey; he shares 3-year-old son Golden and 11-month-old daughter Powerful Queen with model Brittany Bell; he shares 6-month-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with Abby De La Rosa; and Nick and model Alyssa Scott welcomed son Zen on June 23 — just nine days after Zion and Zillion were born.
Mr. Big has his woman’s back!
Amid the fanfare about the “Sex and the City” sequel “And Just Like That…,” Chris Noth is weighing in on the absence of Kim Cattrall, who was one of the main characters on the long-running HBO franchise, but isn’t participating in the new series.
“I have to tell you, I have absolutely no idea what her thinking is, or her emotions. I do know that I’m very close with [Sarah Jessica Parker] and [Kim’s] descriptions of her don’t even come close,” Chris told The Guardian. “I liked her, I thought she was marvelous in the show and some people move on for their own reasons. I don’t know what hers were.”
Kim and SJP have been at odds for years, but the feud seemed to ascend to a new level of vitriol after Sarah publicly offered condolences to Kim on social media when her brother passed away in 2018.
“I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker,” Kim wrote. “Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
Chris bristles at the way the feud has played out.
“I just wish that whole thing had never happened because it was sad and uncomfortable,” he said. “I just don’t like to see anyone talking down about SJ because she’s a target and people can be nasty. I feel very protective of her and I was not happy about that. That’s all I’ll say about that.”
Pink has made a terminally ill fan’s dream come true.
Philadelphia native Diane Berberian, who has bone cancer and is in hospice care, had made it known that her dying wishes was to have a conversation with her hero, Pink. Through the power of social media, the “So What” singer heard of Diane’s story and wanted to help her complete her bucket list.
Last month, Pink dialed up Diane and had a 30-minute Zoom conversation, some of which Diane posted to social media.
“THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK THE TIME TO TRY AND MAKE CONNECTIONS… OUR DREAM CAME TRUE!!!!!” Diane captioned the video. “Pink sang ‘We Are the Champions.’ Will try to share later.”

During the video, Diane shared her admiration for Pink, telling the singer that her music and fierce mentality is inspirational.
“You’ve made my day,” Diane, a former marathon runner said. “I don’t even know what’s on my bucket list now, because you were so far at the top. All the other things started to happen so it’s kinda like, ‘Okay, I’ll think of somethin’ else!'”
Pink replied, “You have a kind of bravery that I don’t understand. You’re bringing comfort to other people while you’re walking through this.”

Diane also said she wakes up to Pink‘s music every day.
“Most of my days start with the song of the day and it’s a Pink song usually,” she shared. “When I race, it’s always a Pink song.”
Funnily enough, it was Diane who gave Pink advice at the end of the conversation.
“Don’t give up,” she said, “don’t stop doing what you’re doing!”
Pink replied, “Okay, I won’t.”
Tristan Thompson wanted a woman he allegedly got pregnant to have an abortion, court documents claim.
On Dec. 3, DailyMail.com reported that a personal trainer named Maralee Nichols is expecting a child with the NBA player. The child is due on Dec. 3.
As part of a paternity lawsuit against the Sacramento Kings player, Maralee’s lawyer filed a legal request to submit text messages purportedly sent between her and Tristan. Those messages reveal that Tristan allegedly urged Maralee to get an abortion. TMZ reported that Tristan also offered her $75,000 to stay quiet about the pregnancy and child.
Court docs obtained by Page Six read, “It is also apparent from the context and substance of these communications that they are from Tristan to Maralee, which reflects that Tristan is addressing the parties’ relationship, and even with respect to her pregnancy insisting that she get an abortion and threatening that she will get next to nothing with lesser support requirements in Texas.”
Maralee, who moved from Houston to Los Angeles, is suing for child support. An alleged text message from Tristan, posted to TMZ, shows him telling Maralee he “won’t be involved” in the child’s life.
The lawsuit reveals that Maralee and Tristan had sex on his 30th birthday in March, when he and Khloe Kardashian were still dating. Those same documents included a declaration from Tristan in which he admitted to having sex with Maralee several times at a hotel after the pair attended a party together.
He maintained the hookup was a one-time thing, but she says the relationship lasted months.
Page Six noted that he filed a request in July for her to take a paternity test. It’s not believed that she has, but Tristan said he will pay child support if the baby is his.
This would be Tristan’s third child, as he shares 4-year-old son Prince Thompson with ex Jordan Craig and 3-year-old daughter True with Khloe.
50 Cent is issuing a mea culpa to Madonna after seemingly mocking one of her Instagram posts.
Last week, Madge posted a series of provocative images, pictures that she claimed Instagram took down. 50 Cent saw the snaps and compared Madonna to the Wicked Witch of the East under a fallen house in “The Wizard of Oz.”
Madonna didn’t take too kindly to 50’s words and ripped the rapper.
“Here is 50 Cent pretending to be my friend. Now you have decided to talk smack about me!” she wrote alongside a red carpet picture with 50. “I guess your new career is getting attention by trying to humiliate others on social media. The least elevated choice you could make as an artist and an adult.”
She added, “You are just jealous you won’t look as good as me or have as much fun when you are my age.”
👀 I must have hurt Madonna feelings, she went and dug up a old MTV photo from 03🤷🏽‍♂️ok Im sorry i did not intend to hurt your feelings.I don’t benefit from this in anyway i said what i thought when i saw the picture because of where i had seen it before i hope you accept my apology pic.twitter.com/Kd0EdT5R95
Upon seeing this, 50 took to Twitter to apologize.
“I must have hurt Madonna feelings, she went and dug up a old MTV photo from 03,” he wrote. “Ok Im sorry i did not intend to hurt your feelings. I don’t benefit from this in anyway i said what i thought when i saw the picture because of where i had seen it before i hope you accept my apology.”
Madonna has not responded.
